Don’t Cha want to call Child Protective Services?

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast’s teenREACH team, made up of 13-19 year olds, recently created a video for Condom Awareness Month.  The children are seen wearing and dancing with a giant condom costume as well as rolling on a floor covered with condoms.  The lyrics include the phrases ‘I know you’re horny’ and ‘we can love safely’.  The footer of the Application for this team states: “Love is the most wonderful thing in the world. We just want to help you keep it that way. Planned Parenthood.  A plan you can love with.

Lyrics:

Ooh baby…Teen Reach…Let’s dance…I see you trying to hook up, wanna make love gotta wear that glove, put a rubber on if you want to get it on, cause just pulling it out might leave you with a son, or maybe even an STD, exchanging a broad hit from a fresh disease, nah uh, didn’t think it, wanna stay strapped so you don’t end up with an infant…

I know you want me, I know you do, I know you want me, I know you do, but there is no guarantee that I will be safe with you.

We can love safely, you have to play fair, cause if you don’t care ‘n lying, I ain’t taking off my underwear.

Don’t Cha wish your partner was safe like me, Don’t Cha wish it didn’t hurt when you pee.  Don’t Cha? Don’t Cha? Don’t Cha wish your partner was safe like me, Don’t Cha want to plan your own pregnancy? Don’t Cha? Don’t Cha?

I know you’re horny, I understand, I know you’re horny, I understand, but getting HIV ain’t really, really sexy man.

Not in this life time, not with me. ‘Cause if I have that baby I know you ain’t gonna pay my needs

… Don’t Cha wish your partner was safe like me, Don’t Cha wish it didn’t hurt when you pee. Don’t Cha? Don’t Cha?  Don’t Cha wish your partner was safe like me, doncha want to plan your own pregnancy? Don’t Cha? Don’t Cha?

Spoken message at the end: Abstinence, abstinence, abstinence, abstinence, abstinence, is the only 100% effective way to prevent pregnancy and some STI’s. But if you’re going to be sexually active use a condom correctly. Everytime. To reduce your risk.

Real Education & Advocacy Changes Health

teenREACH Houston, TX

Almost everyone wants to be ranked No.1 at something. High school students are no different. We understand how important these ranking can be. Will we be in the top 10 percent of our class? Will our football team make it to State? Will we get an acceptance letter from our top choice college? But who wants to be No. 1 in teens becoming parents? May is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention month and teenREACH is working to prevent unintended teen pregnancy by educating peers with age appropriate, medically -accurate information.

teenREACH equally emphasize both advocacy and education as a means to change Texas’ dubious distinction as first in teen birth rates. teenREACH seeks to incorporate teens in community service, education, and advocacy. Members and supporters of teenREACH believe that teens, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, have the basic right to pursue comprehensive sexual health information without fear, shame or exploitation. Members of teenREACH participate in cross generational, community-based education emphasizing medically accurate sexual health information.
